Mind blow time for the Toys Я Us point:
Я is pronounced “Ya” in Russian.
A suffix -Ya (-屋) in Japanese refers to a store, I.E. ラーメン屋 (Ramen-Ya) is a place that sells ramen.
So Toys Я Us is Toys-Ya US (トーいず屋 ＵＳ). American Toy Store.
